In June 2007, tragedy struck a good friend of ours -- Tim Sigler (bass player for Transpose). His 18 year old niece, Kelsey Smith, was abducted from a Target parking lot and later found murdered (details). A foundation has been set up in Kelsey's honor to help Tim and his family raise awareness and help others who must deal with such senseless acts -- KELSEY'S ARMY.
New Day joined with Transpose, Fed Up, Esther, and Gunwitch to put on a benefit concert like no other at The French Quarter in Jacksonville, FL on August 3, 2007. Missey Smith, Kelsey's mother flew in from Kansas and joined other family members from Kingsland, GA. The local news stations covered the event, some with live broadcasts, and the band performances were awesome. Thanks to everyone who came out to be a part of KELSEY'S ARMY.
